The Moldable Speaker
Jerry Huang, and Rung-Huei Liang
The Moldable Speaker is malleable, enabling the body of the product to be shaped as you wish. Meanwhile, the volume of sound can be adjusted at a certain place on the surface of the product. The Moldable Speaker we have created is made of an aluminum mesh embedded in rubber foam. A combination of input and output (flexible sensors and speaker) are placed onto the surface in a circular form.
The shift places emphasis on physical object, bodied mechanism, and inherent information for tangible products. In contrast to the data‐centred view, we have also thought about the form and suitability for the user and the qualities of the activity of manipulating the system.
